Dec 1st 2012 – Indy Lights driver Chase Austin hires Drive Motorsports International as his commercial consulting agency. DMI will support Chase in sponsorship targeting, market research and intelligence, creative strategy, client relationship management and consult on brand development for the Indy Lights.
Signed to NASCAR powerhouse Hendrick Motorsports before his fifteenth birthday, Chase made history as the youngest driver to secure a contract with a NASCAR team. His first season he earned two wins, one top five, six top ten finishes and a pole award. Chase then signed with Rusty Wallace Racing in 2007, and made history again as the first biracial driver to compete in the NASCAR Nationwide Series with a sixth place at Dover “Monster Mile”. Chase was able to run a handful of NASCAR Truck Series and Nationwide Series through 2010. He managed to finish 13th in his NASCAR Truck Series debut at Daytona International Speedway.
Chase broadened his racing horizons outside of NASCAR by competing in the Firestone Indy Lights Series in 2011 and 2012. Chase adapted quickly, earning a top ten finishes in each of the events in which he competed. He finished eighth at Iowa Speedway and had a top nine finishin the “Freedom 100” at the famed Brickyard, held as a prelude to the ‘Indy 500′ and showcasing the IndyCar Series’ future stars. In fact Chase was so impressive with his talent that legendary four-time Indy 500 winner A.J. Foyt announced in August, 2012 that he would be fielding a car for Chase in the 2013 ‘Indianapolis 500’ at the famed Brickyard.
